International scientific and practical online conference "Modern technologies in aquaculture”

On December 23, 2020 on the basis of the Department of industrial fish farming and fish products processing of the Engineering Faculty of Polessky State University together with the National University of Bioresources and Environmental Management of Ukraine (Department of Livestock and Aquatic Bioresources, Dean Kondratyuk V. N.), the Department of Aquaculture (Head Bekh V.V.) and the Department of Hydrobiology and Ichthyology (Head Rudyk-Leuskaya N.Ya.) held scientific and practical online conference "Modern technologies in aquaculture" in order to develop international innovative cooperation. Within the framework of the event the following issues were considered: peculiarities of reproduction and breeding of valuable fish species, methods of increasing natural fish productivity, resource-efficient technologies and water treatment in fish farming, environmental safety of commercial fish farming.

N.G. Kruchinsky, Vice-rector for scientific work of Polessky State University, made a welcoming speech. The results of scientific research were presented by the Dean of the Engineering Faculty V.N. Shtepa ("Innovative industrial cluster of green economy and biotechnology of PolesSU in the context of synergistic use in aquaculture solutions from other branches of science and technology"), head of the Engineering Center, assistant of the Department of industrial fish farming and fish products processing Yarmosh V. V. ("Improvement of technological methods of reproduction and cultivation of the claryey catfish (Сlarias gariepinus) in order to provide industrial farms with fish landing material") and director of scientific and technological park LLC "Technopark Polesye", graduate student of the Department of industrial fish farming and fish products processing Kozyr A.V. ("Ways to increase resource efficiency in the industrial thermal fish farm").

The Ukrainian colleagues presented developments: Head of the Department of Aquaculture Bekh V.V. ("Problems and prospects of fishery development of paddlefish in Ukraine"), Associate Professor of Hydrobiology and Ichthyology Department Khizhnyak M.I. ("Stimulation of plankton invertebrates development under the influence of biofertilizers") and Associate Professor of Aquaculture Department Kovalenko V.A. ("Testing of Vadilen to stimulate fish spawning state in aquaculture conditions").

As a part of the conference, promising areas of further scientific and practical cooperation of both universities and specialized departments were outlined, and further steps for its practical implementation were proposed.
