Business Forum 2019

On May 30-31, the second business forum was held in Polessky State University. The technological platform of the forum is the industrial cluster of innovations in the field of biotechnology and the green economy. 

The forum included innovation project presentations. The university presented projects on water purification technologies, aquaponics and growing Pavlovnia, which is a new tree for our region. 

Polish colleagues, who are representatives of the North-South transport and logistics cluster enterprises (Gdansk), participated in the forum and presented their developments as well. 

After the plenary session of the forum, a letter of intent was signed on behalf of Polessky State University and ‘Brestmyasomolprom’ holding. The document provides for the creation of a research and technology platform in order to apply innovative technologies and create organic industries in the agricultural sector. 

A thematic product exhibition of products produced by farmers, industrial complex participants as well as Pinsk and Pinsk district enterprises was organized in the frame of the forum. The exhibition presented the developments of 25 enterprises and organizations. 

In the afternoon of 30 May, a meeting of the Industrial Complex Council was held. The results of the year, presented by the cluster development organization - Poesy Technopark, were discussed at the meeting. The Council made a decision to admit new cluster members: the managing company of ‘Brestmyasomolprom’ holding, Koranets farm, ‘Varyag ‘(TV and Radio Company) and Pinsk Wine-Making Plant Jsc. 

 As part of the Council meeting agenda, an action plan was adopted for the development of the industrial complex within 2019-2020, which includes organizing the work of the pilot summer agribusiness school, creating an analytical agricultural and chemical reference laboratory, new biological plant protection issues and developing mobile plants to protect fruit and berry plantations from spring frosts. 

On the second day of the forum, a business event ‘Pinsk Invest Weekend-12’was held. Students, young scientists, university staff and teachers presented 13 start-up projects. 

During the event, a four-party cooperation agreement was signed by Polessky State University, ‘Brestmyasomolprom Concern’, Mankovichi enterprise and LLC ‘Planta-Vin’ (Moldova). The agreement provides for the implementation of scientifically grounded developments as well as the production of genetically homogeneous planting materials of table variety grapes. 

In total, more than 250 participants took place in the events of the business forum.
