The faculty teaches 610 students (1-5 courses), including full-time students - 434 students, on correspondence courses - 176 students.

The main directions of research activity of the faculty:

- DNA Technology in animal husbandry;
- DNA Technology in crop production;
- Cellular Technologies (human and animal): the cultivation of cells and tissues, production of biologically active substances;
- Cell Technologies (microorganisms): culturing cells and tissues, production of biologically active substances;
- Cell Technologies (higher plants) : culturing cells and tissues, production of biologically active substances;
- Environmental and pathological characteristics of flora and fauna: taxonomy, physiology, biochemistry, protection of plants and animals;
- Innovative Technologies in animal nutrition, feed production and ensuring the quality of livestock products;
- Development and introduction of innovative technologies in fish breeding;
- Development and introduction of innovative technologies in fish processing and fish production (salting, conservation, salads);
- Selection of strains, varieties, breeds and hybrids: microorganisms, plants and animals;
- Development and implementation of individual and typical models of innovative housing projects (green building, lofts, glemping), with roofs and walls made of living materials;
- Development and implementation of landscaping projects, landscaping and reconstruction of landscape gardening facilities, areas of limited and general use;
- Using of flower crops in the architectural and spatial organization of the landscape;
- Development and implementation of indoor gardening facilities, including conservatories in different rooms.
- Development and implementation of applied research projects by new educational standards for training developers in the field of biotechnological production.
