On March 30, the grand opening of the Republican School Sports Contest-2021 in Ice Hockey took place in the ice arena of Polessky State University. The participants and guests of the sports festival were welcomed by the Rector of Polessky State University, Valery Dunai.
The address on behalf of the Minister of Education Igor Karpenko was made by Elina Sokolovskaya, the Deputy Director of the Republican Center of Physical Education and Sports of Pupils and Students. The event was also attended by Maxim Drobot, Director of the Brest Regional Center for Physical Education and Sports of Students, Andrey Zhuravsky, Chief Specialist of “Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation”, Sergey Vladimirov, Head of the Department of Sports and Tourism of the Pinsk City Executive Committee. The importance of the event and the fact that it is in the competitive process that skill grows were noted.
The participants were wished good luck and success, as well as well-deserved victories in the sports field.
From March 29 to April 2, seven hockey teams will compete for the first place. The participants were divided into two subgroups. Teams from Minsk, Vitebsk and Brest regions will meet in subgroup “A”. In subgroup “B” — from Minsk, Mogilev, Gomel and Grodno regions. According to the results of the games, the pairs of competitors who will compete for prizes will be determined. The results of the competition will be announced on April 2 at 16:45 at the closing ceremony of the Sports Contest.
