From April 5 to 6, the Republican Karate Universiade of the 2024-2025 academic year took place in the athletics arena of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, in which more than 200 athletes from 17 universities of our country participated. Karate students competed for the title of the best in individual and team kata and kumite classes. Students of Polessky State University performed brilliantly at the Universiade. As a result, Nikita Sahwon, a 4th-year student, in the category of men 18+ over 84 kg and Roman Chimbur, a 2nd-year student, in the category of men 18+ under 84 kg took the first places. Victoria Oleinik, a 2nd year student, took the 2nd place in the category of women 18+ up to 55 kg. In the men's team kumite, the winners were: Nikita Sahwon, Roman Chimbourg and Nikita Dubina. The women's team consisting of Victoria Oleynik, Tatiana Yurchenyi and Marianna Petrova took the 3rd place.
