On November 28, students met with Kirill Vladimirovich Valyushko, head of the Department for Drug Control and Combating Human Trafficking at the Oktyabrsky Police Department in Minsk. The topic of the discussion was "Countering illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, modern problems of drug consumption and distribution." Olga Anatolyevna Khmel, Vice-rector for Ideological and Educational Work, took part in the dialogue.
Kirill Vladimirovich elaborated on the provisions of the legislation governing liability for illicit drug trafficking. He explained that the Criminal Code provides for punishment for the possession, sale and transportation of drugs, and each of these actions qualifies as a serious crime. Special attention was paid to the prevention of students: such offenses inevitably entail serious consequences for the future of a person - deprivation of liberty, restriction of social rights, loss of the opportunity to build a career and a normal life.
