On the eve of the Memorial Day of the Internationalist Soldiers, a meeting "Service and Duty: heroism of Internationalists" was held at the Faculty of Engineering. Vladimir Nikolaevich Rozanov, a participant in the Afghan war and a leading software engineer at Polessky State University, addressed the students.
From 1985 to 1987 Vladimir Nikolaevich was a commander with the rank of captain and successfully performed his duties. He shared his memories of serving in Afghanistan, the difficult situations that he and his comrades had to go through during the war. His professional knowledge of military affairs and love for his family and Homeland helped him overcome the hardships of service and return alive and well.
A participant in the Afghan war answered the students' questions, trying to convey to the participants of the event that true patriotism is manifested not only in the willingness to defend the Motherland, but also in the ability to preserve humanity in the most difficult conditions.
