An information hour dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Khatyn tragedy was held at the Faculty of Economics and Finance

On March 19, the Faculty of Economics and Finance hosted a joint information hour “The Tragedy of Khatyn. Genocide of the Belarusian people”, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the Khatyn tragedy. On March 22, 1943, the Belarusian village Khatyn was razed to the ground, becoming a symbol of the greatest national tragedy and eternal sorrow. Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Irina Eduardovna Yelenskaya told the students about the tragedy of Khatyn and the burned villages, symbols of the ruthless policy of genocide and the total extermination of civilians during the Great Patriotic War.

All participants of the event were unanimous in their opinion: the memory of tragic pages of history is a moral duty and the basis of national identity.
