Dialogue platform "Preserving memory"

On March 20, the dialogue platform "Preserving Memory" was held in the city central library, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Burned Villages. The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the City Executive Committee Nikolai Novak, Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs Kirill Yurchenko, Deputy Pinsk interdistrict Prosecutor Ekaterina Babich, senior researcher at the Museum of Belarusian Polesie Alexander Orzhekhovsky. Among the participants were students of Polessky State University.

An atmosphere of deep respect and sorrow reigned within the walls of the library. Excerpts from documentary sources, eyewitness accounts, and poems laced with pain and hope were read out. The library staff has prepared a thematic exhibition, including photographs, documents and literature to understand the scale of the tragedy. The exhibition has become an important visual addition to the topic under discussion, allowing participants to see the faces of those who suffered and understand what an irreparable loss fell on the shoulders of the people.
