As part of the republican information and educational project “Pulse of the Country: Facts, Trends, Meanings,” a meeting was held on August 27 at the Pinsk City House of Culture with Vadim Frantsevich Gigin, a deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the General Director of the National Library of Belarus. The event was attended by the management, faculty, and staff of Polessky State University.
The speaker emphasized the fundamental importance of face‑to‑face meetings with work collectives and the public. At present, it is extremely important not to gloss over pressing issues, but to openly discuss the most sensitive topics and honestly acknowledge the existing problems. Issues related to the military situation around our country, as well as the economic and political situation, were discussed. The meeting participants were concerned about demographic issues, labour migration, retaining young professionals, and many other matters.
