An important preventive event on safe communications was held at the Faculty of Engineering of Polessky State University. The speakers at the event were representatives of the student research laboratory “Digital Security of Meanings,” Yegor Marsitsky and Evgeny Naumchik.
Upperclassmen provided students with a detailed explanation of the key rules for protecting personal and official data when receiving calls from unknown numbers, and also reminded them that real employees of law enforcement agencies, tax authorities, and banks never use the Viber or Telegram messaging apps to resolve official issues. The speakers paid particular attention to fraud indicators: the artificial creation of panic, demands to make a decision immediately, prohibitions on hanging up, and attempts to switch the conversation to a video chat.
