XIII OPEN REPUBLICAN TOURNAMENT ON SHOTOKAN KARATE-DO NAMED "THE CAPITAL OF POLESYE-2021"

On November 27-28, the XIII OPEN REPUBLICAN SHOTOKAN KARATE-DO TOURNAMENT NAMED "THE CAPITAL OF POLESYE-2021" was held on the basis of the sports complex of Polessky State University. The competition was dedicated to the memory of P.M. Babich-Ostrovsky, the founder of the youth sports club named “Sayva”. It was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Shotokan Karate-do Federation of Belarus.

About 200 athletes from Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev regions and the city of Minsk took part in the competition.

Among the honored guests of the tournament were such people as: the Chairman of the Shotokan Karate-do Federation of Belarus, the honored trainer of the Republic of Belarus Vilkin Andrei Yakovlevich, the Head of the Sports and Tourism Sector of Pinsk City Executive Committee Sergei Sergeevich Vladimirov, the Dean of Polessky State University Healthy Lifestyle Organisation Faculty, Marinich Tatyana Vladimirovna.

Polessky State University Cup was won by the students of the youth-sports club named “Saiva”/ Polessky State University.

 

The first places were taken by the lyceum students of Polessky State University: Oleinik Viktoria and Ermakovich Vladislav (the coach was a student from Polessky State University, Borichevsky Nikita). In the overall team competition, the best results were shown by the national teams of Sayva / Polessky State University, Iceberg / Minsk and East Wind / Bobruisk.
