On 5 January, an informational and awareness raising platform named Belarus of the Future was held at Polessky State University. Its aim was to discuss the draft amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.
The dialogue was participated by Chairperson of the Brest Oblast Association of Trade Unions Nikolai Shum, Chairperson of the Pinsk Association of Trade Unions Tatyana Zyshchik, Polessky State University Rector Valery Dunay, the employees, the university students and the representatives of the Belaya Rus public association and The Belarusian Women's Union. The moderator of the dialogue platform was Acting Head of the Department of Intercultural Communication, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Vyacheslav Lozitsky.
Nikolai Shum expressed his conviction that the Belarusian policy of social orientation and equality must be conferred in the Basic Law, which is specified in the discussed project.
Vladimir Makarushko, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Intercultural Communications emphasized that it is important for parents to educate law-abiding citizens who respect national and historical traditions. Valentin Evstafiev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Intercultural Communication spoke about the political aspects of the constitutional changes.
Answering the students' questions, Polessky State University Rector Valery Dunay noted that confirmation of the implemented comprehensive state support of the youth development in the Constitution will reflect the importance of realizing the potential of the young generation of Belarusians.
The draft amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus were submitted for public discussion on 27 December, 2021.
Citizens' opinions on the draft amendments and additions, as well as possible proposals regarding their improvement can be submitted to the National Center of Legal Information:

- filling in the electronic form;
- in writing to the address: 1a Bersona Street, Minsk, 220030, National Legal Information Center, with a note “Constitution”.
The received materials will be summarized and systematized by the National Center of Legal Information.
