A seminar for students studying garden and park construction was held at the Department of Landscape Design on 3 February, 2022. The theme of the seminar was "Relief organizing and landscape improving". The speaker of this event was Dmitry Olegovich Smirnov, the Chief Engineer of DerevoPark (St. Petersburg). Landscape design is becoming more and more popular because of the pandemic, and people want to see a well-maintained territory. Thus specialists in this field must improve their skills and abilities in this chosen field.
The students were presented with a project in the Repino Park cottage village (SILVER DIPLOMA ALAROS 2018), the working documents and the sequence of vertical planning were shown to the participants.
Features of relief organizing using the example of a private garden in the Copper Lake cottage settlement were demonstrated as well. Initially, a 3D relief model was shown, and then the project implementation was presented.
The speaker revealed the importance of vertical planning and rational relief organizing, which is important for every project. Therefore, the ability to execute a vertical planning plan efficiently is the basis for any landscape designer. It should be noted that Dmitry Olegovich Smirnov is a native of Pinsk, who graduated from the lyceum of Polessky State University in 2009. Dmitry Olegovich Smirnov can be followed as an example in his professional forming and development. The seminar participants received answers to all their questions. The issue of getting to work was of particular interest: what is important for an employer; the difficulties you face after being hired; what must be done today to become a good specialist tomorrow; which programs are necessary for a modern landscape designer.
