From 27 to 28 April the forum named “Intellectual property in Belarus. 30th Anniversary of the National Intellectual Property Office” in the National Library was held in conjunction with an annual World Intellectual Property Day and the 30th Anniversary of the National Intellectual Property Office. It was organized by the National Intellectual Property Office, Eurasian Patent Organization and State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus. Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Shlychkov, Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization Daren Tang (video message), Chairman of the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China Shen Chanyu, President of the Eurasian Patent Office Grigory Ivliev, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Ivanets, Member of the College (Minister) for economic and financial affairs of the Eurasian Economic Commission Ruslan Beketayev (video message), Director of the Economic Cooperation Department of the CIS Executive Committee Mikhail Myskin (video message), Director of the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual property of Russia Yury Zubov, Director-General of the National Intellectual Property Office Vladimir Ryabolov welcomed the participants in the festive opening of the event.
The Forum program included 2 seminars organized in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization and Eurasian Patent Organization. A regional seminar on the role of intellectual property in the innovative development was held on 27 April. A regional seminar on International systems for legal protection of industrial designs was conducted on 28 April. Within the forum a number of topical issues related to the development, improvement and transformation of the sphere in the current situation at national, regional and international levels were discussed including building an intellectual property market within the Eurasian Economic Community, commercialization of the results of research and findings, intellectual property policies etc.
The participants of the forum were representatives of government authorities and organizations, scientists, domestic and foreign experts on intellectual property including 90 online representatives among whom was the head of the laboratory of "Business center” Anna V. Khomich.
