On October 13, 2022, a significant event took place - the opening of the First Exhibition-Forum of the IT Academy "Artificial Intelligence in Belarus". The organizers were the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences. The purpose of the event is to develop and coordinate the cooperation of scientists, specialists from research organizations, educational institutions engaged in research in the field of application of artificial intelligence (AI) methods in the interests of finding effective solutions and practical recommendations for their application in various spheres of life. The significance of the exhibition-forum is confirmed by the fact that it was opened by the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Vladimir Grigoryevich Gusakov, the Minister of Communications and Informatization Konstantin Konstantinovich Shulgan, the First Deputy Minister of Education Irina Anatolyevna Starovoitova, the Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission Alexander Evgenievich Guchok, the head of the administration of the Hi-Tech Park Vsevolod Vyacheslavovich Yanchevsky. More than 100 projects were demonstrated - from agriculture to smart healthcare. The results of their scientific research were presented at the exhibition by 32 organizations of the country of various fields of activity and forms of ownership. It is important that among such a large list of innovative developments, for direct presentation to the expert community within the framework of the round table "Actual issues of the development of artificial intelligence in the Republic of Belarus", an international project was selected with the participation of Polessky State University and our partner friends from the National Research Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N. I. Lobachevsky: “An intelligent system for analyzing and predicting the environmental safety of biological wastewater treatment facilities” (supervisors: Vice-Rector for Research at Polessky State University, Doctor of Technical Sciences Shtepa V.N. and Director of the Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics, UNN Dr. N.Yu. Zolotykh). The joint development of our scientists aroused substantive interest from significant experts in the field of AI, which made it possible to form promising trends for the further development of research and cooperation with a number of institutions of the Republic of Belarus.
