On February 21, 2023, within the framework of the implementation of the "Strategy for the development of scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activities of the educational institution "Polessky State University" until 2025", a joint meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council and the Council of Young Scientists of Polessky State University was held. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research (BRFFR), Director of the Executive Directorate, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Sergey Gaponenko Sergey V. explained the essence and tasks of the Belarusian Fundamental Research Foundation as a state non-profit organization, the subject of which is the financing of the conduct and testing of the results of fundamental, including oriented fundamental, scientific research (aimed at solving scientific problems related to practical applications). Statistical aspects of obtaining grants in various scientific fields, the effectiveness of individual institutes and universities, including Polessky State University, long-term plans and tasks of innovative research, both in Belarus and globally, were presented. Separately, Academician Gaponenko S.V. dwelled on the theoretical issues of performing scientific work with their transformation into the production of finished commercial products; motivational aspects of the participation of young scientists in fundamental research.
