Associate professors of the Department of Biotechnology, Chairman and Secretary of the Council of Young Scientists of the Polessky State University Maria Mikhailovna Vorobyova and Natalya Pavlovna Dmitrovich took part in the XX International Scientific Conference “Youth in Science 2023”, held at the Central Scientific Library named after. Y. Kolos of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Young scientists presented reports: “Assessment of the dependence of the level of genetic variability of alien invasive species of hemiptera on the list of food plants and geographic location” at the section “Conservation of biological diversity and use of resources of the animal world” and “Growth rate of the algae Porphyridium purpureum depending on cultivation conditions” at the section "Biotechnology, resource conservation and plant diversity." We took an active part in discussing problems related to the preservation of biological and genetic diversity together with young scientists from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. In conclusion, the chairman of the council of young scientists of the NAS of Belarus (department of biological sciences), Victoria Ivanovna Golovenchik, organized a joint meeting of the councils of young scientists of the NAS of Belarus and Poles State University, at which they discussed the possibility of joint cooperation between organizations in the field of biotechnology, biology, molecular genetics and bioinformatics.
