On May 20, 2026, the grand opening of the interregional sports contest for people with disabilities "Starts of Polessie‑2026" took place at Polessky State University.
The event brought together participants from various regions of the Brest region and the city of Pinsk. Starts of Polessie has already become a good tradition that unites people for whom sport is a source of fortitude, confidence and striving for new achievements. The solemn ceremony began with welcoming remarks by the host and the performance of the national anthem of the Republic of Belarus.
The creative part of the ceremony was brightened with performances by the gymnastics and acrobatics team "Step by Step", choreographic groups "Luchiki" and "Orange", as well as the art project "Universal".
The sports hall of PolesSU hosted the Spartakiad competitions, where participants demonstrated dexterity, strength and team spirit. The teams went through a series of exciting challenges: accuracy in the Sniper game, mindfulness in the Minefield, speed in the Snake relay, strength in tug of war, and also competed in bowling, jumping, and other active games. The captains showed their accuracy in the Air Darts competition.
At the end of all stages, the results were summed up and the winners were determined.
