Maslenitsa is the most cheerful holiday with folk festivals, songs, dances, games, associated with the farewell of winter and the joyful expectation of the approaching warmth of spring.
Mass festivities in honor of Maslenitsa and the farewell to winter were organized by students of Polessky State University on March 11, on the so-called rampant Thursday. According to the beliefs of our ancestors, those who have spent Maslenitsa with enthusiasm and fun, will have an equally rich and fruitful year.
In the courtyard of the academic buildingg No. 1, Maslenitsa "greeted" guests noisily and with the aroma of pancakes. A theatrical performance, competitions and sports competitions gathered a lot of guests for the holiday.
