The Department of Banking and Financial Markets is a graduating department for the specialties:
General higher education
- 6-05-0411-02 "Finance and credit" (qualification "economist"). Profiling: "Banking";
- 6-05-0311-01 "Economics" (qualification "economist"). Profiling:"Financial and banking economics";
Advanced higher education
- 7-06-0411-02 "Finance, Taxation and Credit" (Master's degree). Profiling: "Financial markets and digital innovations".
The Department of Banking and Financial Markets operates on the basis of the order of the rector of PolesSU No. 115 dated 25.03.2020.
The training of specialists for the banking sector in Pinsk began with the creation of the Pinsk Accounting and Credit College of the USSR State Bank in 1944. In 1997, it was transformed into the Pinsk Banking College, in 2001 – into the Pinsk Higher Banking College of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, in 2004 – into the Pinsk State Higher Banking College of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
The Department of Banking was established along with the Educational Institution “Polessky State University” in 2006. The staff of the department included teachers of the Pinsk Higher State Banking College of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus and teachers of the Department of Finance and Credit of the branch of the Belarusian State University of Economics in Pinsk. The department became the successor of the accumulated traditions and experience in the field of banking education and continued the practice of developing partnerships with the banking system of the Republic of Belarus.
In March 2020, the Department of Banking was renamed the Department of Banking and Financial Markets.
The department is guided in its activities by the quality policy, the requirements of the STB ISO 9001 standard, the quality manual and other documents of the University's quality management system, regulatory documents and instructions of the Ministry of Education, the Charter of the Educational Institution "Polessky State University", orders of the rector, orders and instructions of the Dean of the Faculty, as well as the Regulations on the department.
