On April 9, 2021, the international scientific and practical online seminar “Rational Use of Natural Resources and Green Economy in the Context of Cross-Border Cooperation” took place. This event was held within the framework of the implementation of the objectives of the Memorandum signed by Polessky State University and the Institute of Water Problems and Land Reclamation of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. At the same time, taking into account the transboundary nature of water resources in the Pripyat Polesie region, especially in the context of the potential E40 waterway project, we were happy to welcome our partners from the State Water Transport Administration.
The event was opened by Valery Dunai, the Rector of Polessky State University. Nikolai Kruchinsky, the university’s Vice-Rector for Scientific Work was present offline. Representatives of LLC “Technopark Polesie”, Engineering and Biotechnological faculties, Economics and Finance Faculty took an active part in the seminar.
Within the framework of the seminar, the participants presented their developments in the areas of forming an effective structure of innovation activities, climate management and environmental management, environmentally safe navigation, organic farming, engineering in the segments of alternative energy sources and water treatment.
As a result of the event, the concept of further steps of cooperation was developed with the involvement of partners from international organizations, such as UNDP Belarus and UNDP Ukraine. At the same time, the goal is to move to the scientific and practical plane of cross-border cooperation between Polessky State University and the Institute of Water Problems and Land Reclamation of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
