On September 16, as part of the celebration of the National Unity Week, the Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus" organized a round table with students on the issue: "National unity is the basis of the prosperity of the people, nation, state." Members of RPO Belaya Rus and students of four universities of the Brest region met in an online format: Brest State A.S. Pushkin University, Brest State Technical University, Baranovichi State University and Polessky State University.
The following experts were invited to the conversation: a member of the Standing Committee on education, science and culture of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vasko Marina Viktorovna, a member of the Standing Committee on labour and social issues of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Dashko Anatoly Mikhailovich, Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Brest City executive committee Ivanchin Gennady Ivanovich, Head of the Brest regional Department of the Fund of Social Protection of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus Koleda Alexander Mikhailovich, Head of the Department of Religious Education and Catechization of the Brest Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church Archpriest Yevgeny Likhota, Chairman of the Brest regional organization of the regional public organization "Belaya Rus", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Poyota Petr Stepanovich, Academic Secretary of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, Candidate of Historical Sciences Solovyanov Andrey Petrovich, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Council of the regional public organization "Belaya Rus" Shatko Alexander Viktorovich.
Rector of Polessky State University Dunay Valery Ivanovich, acting Chairman of Pinsk City Organization of RPO "Belaya Rus", Deputy Head of the Education Department of the Pinsk City Executive Committee Bylinskaya Lyudmila Stepanovna, acting Head of Polessky State University Department of Intercultural Communication, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Lozitsky Vyacheslav Leontevich, Chief Accountant of Pinsk City Organization "Belaya Rus" Vinnikova Alesya Vladimirovna were the representatives of Polessky State University and Pinsk.
Dunay Valery Ivanovich emphasized the importance of the continuity of generations, the preservation of traditions and a tolerant, peaceful mentality of the Belarusian people. The participants discussed the historical aspects of the holiday and key moments in the history of sovereign Belarus, considered the concept of the unity not only from the point of view of statehood, but also its moral and ethical sides. During the discussion the participants of the round table were unanimous about the following: it is necessary to protect our land and to cherish it, we ought to be a strong and united nation for our sovereign state to strengthen its position in the world community, for Belarusians to live in peace and prosperity.
