On September 19, the grand opening of the III Sports and Patriotic Games "Strength in Unity and Creation" took place at Polessky State University. The event is timed to coincide with National Unity Day and is held within the framework of the State Program "Education and Youth Policy". The organizer of the competition was the educational institution "Polessky State University".
The athletes were greeted by Valery Ivanovich Dunai, Rector of PolesSU, Natalia Valerjevna Aponchuk, Chairman of the Republican Public Organization Belarusian Olympic Academy, Nikolai Viktorovich Novak, Deputy Chairman of the Pinsk City Executive Committee, Sergey Sergeyevich Vladimirov, Head of the Sports and Sports Department of the Pinsk City Executive Committee, and Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Georgievich Dziatkevich, Head of the Physical Training and Sports Department of the Military Faculty of the Belarusian State Aviation Academy.
The right to raise the National Flag of the Republic of Belarus at the solemn event was granted to the Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus, European champion in rowing, a student of the Faculty of Healthy Lifestyle Organization Roman Shabatko.
As part of the festive program, the participants of the Spartakiad received a musical gift from the soloists of the folk pop song studio "Sounds of Time", which continued with a musical number from students of the Faculty of Healthy Lifestyle Organization of Polessky State University.
The demonstrative performances of Daniil Alexandrovich Polyukhovich, assistant of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Roman Glinko, a second–year student, and Stanislav Polyukhovich, a first-year student, attracted special attention of the public. The athletes, multiple winners and prize-winners of national and international karate tournaments, demonstrated a high level of skill, fortitude and dedication to their work.
Teams from Belarus and Russia are taking part in the games.
The Pinsk border guard detachment organized a military-patriotic platform "We have something to protect, we have something to be proud of" for participants and fans, where everyone could get acquainted with modern weapons and military equipment.
Over the course of two days, there will be competitions in athletics, orienteering, mini-football, swimming, darts, pull-ups on a high crossbar, and tug of war. As part of the sports and patriotic games, participants laid flowers at the Memorial Complex to the soldiers-liberators. The event has become a symbol of respect for the heroic deeds of the heroes who liberated their homeland, and an important element of patriotic education of young people.
