The Republic of Belarus has a well-established tradition of teaching foreign students. Polessky State University, as well as other universities in our country, has accumulated sufficient experience, developed specialized methods, and created an appropriate personnel base.
Entering Belarusian universities, foreign students get into a new social, linguistic, national environment. They do not always have the opportunity to receive support from relatives.
In a multinational society, like the students of Polessky State University, the importance of promoting tolerance and mutual understanding of people of different nationalities is very important.
The goal of multicultural education at the university is to eliminate contradictions between the systems and norms of education of dominant nations and ethnic minorities, to form positions and attitudes that promote tolerant perception and interaction of representatives of different ethnic groups.
So, within the framework of promoting tolerance, Buhtik Marina Igorevna, Associate Professor, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management organized classes for 18 F-1 group. The classes were in such subjects as "Financial planning" and "Financial management". Two foreign students study in group 18 F-1. They are Ovezgeldiev Shatlyk (Republic of Turkmenistan) and Mirov Muhammadsharif (Republic of Tajikistan). As part of the classes, the students told about the main directions of economic development of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
The classes helped to learn more about different cultures. They influenced the cognitive aspect of ethnicity, helped the students to promote and put into practice the ideas of tolerant behavior.
