International Volunteer Day is held on 5 December each year to spread information about the work of volunteers around the world.

Volunteers engage communities and create a people-centered movement to help to build a better and safer future for all of us. Encouraging, recognizing and developing volunteerism is an important part of creating an equal and inclusive future for the world.

A volunteer center has been created at Polessky State University. Its purpose is to create conditions for the improvement of volunteer activities of students through the coordination, development and unification of all volunteer teams of Polessky State University. Students of our university conduct socially significant events at Polessky State University and in Pinsk.

On 3 December, the interuniversity student conference named "Contemporary Volunteering: Actual Challenges and Prospects" took place. The conference was organized with the support of the Republican Volunteer Center and the Belarusian Medical University. Veronika Koziakova, a volunteer, a student of Polessky State University Biotechnological faculty , spoke on such a theme as  "The experience of organizing and conducting large-scale events in order to promote volunteer activities." The meeting was held online. Conference participants from all over Belarus spoke about the activities of volunteer centers in their educational establishments, shared their experience of participating in projects, and discussed the prospects of the volunteer movement in general.
