Nationwide discussion of Belarus’ draft Constitution amendments and additions

On 19 January, the Pinsk City Cultural Center hosted a regular meeting to discuss the draft amendments and additions to the Basic Law of the Republic of Belarus. The meeting was attended by employees of Polessky State University, including members of the youth wing of the Pinsk city organization of the Belarusian Women's Union. The meeting was attended by Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs Andrei Savinykh, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Valentina Begeba, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Omelyanyuk, youth, representatives of labor collectives, and the public.

 Andrei Savinykh drew attention to the need to update the Basic Law, and to the fact that the new version of the Constitution contains a large number of changes that would require some work to adjust the existing laws.

The participants of the meeting could ask questions in the field of constitutional changes in our country. The issues of maintaining social support and political stability were of the topical interest.
