Andrei Ivanets is a scientist, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, a corresponding member [of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus], Professor.
Andrei Ivanets graduated from BSU in 2006; he began his career at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Andrei Ivanets became Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2013.
Andrei Ivanets has been working as Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus since 2016. He became Professor at the NASB Institute of Scientific Personnel Training in 2018. Andrei Ivanets has been Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus since 2019.
Young people who are eager to do fundamental and applied research are provided with all necessary conditions today: scientific schools have been created in Belarus, and such schools can form a scientific worldview and provide scientists with new knowledge, Andrei Ivanets notes. Every third researcher at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has not reached the age of 35: they are master's students, postgraduate students or candidates of sciences.
Education Minister highlighted: “We understand that science development, technology, as well as innovations are inextricably linked with training of personnel. On the one hand, the education system must provide opportunities to work with gifted students, so that we prepare personnel for our economy. On the other hand, one must understand that today the Ministry of Education requires paying much attention to the issues of educating the younger generation”.
The minister added that every citizen should be a patriot: “We must pay attention to pupils and students, to the implementation of the program of patriotic education”. Andrei Ivanets emphasized the following issue in terms of adopting the new Education Code: “It is necessary to implement it, to plan how to develop the education system further. Issues related to the preservation of historical memory and patriotism are among the main ones. I am sure that today we have worthy teachers who will be able to solve the tasks at a high level”.
