The International Day against Drug Abuse is celebrated in our republic every year on 1 March.
The problem of drug addiction is one of the most acute ones as for health care and society as a whole. Somatic diseases, the spread of HIV infection, hepatitis B or C and premature mortality are among its negative medical consequences. A low percentage of employed people, family ties breakage, a high frequency of cases of criminal behavior, as well as convictions are among its negative social consequences. Students of the Healthy Way of Life Organization Faculty joined the national flash mob “Belarus against Drugs”.
An educational training on drug prevention for peer education volunteers was held in the student village on the International Day against Drug Abuse. The participants of the training discussed the urgency of the problem, considered measures aimed at fighting against the spread of drugs among young people, criminal liability for illegal sale of drugs. Alternatives to drugs were given particular attention. The volunteers watched and discussed such films as "Drugs. Secrets of manipulation", "I had thought I'd have never get caught, but I was caught in a few days", "Make the right conclusion". All the volunteers plan to conduct preventive trainings in the groups of the university.
