On 4 May, Polessky State University joined the republican action “Belarus remembers. We remember everyone” dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Relay races will take place throughout Belarus from 4 May to 3 July in the Year of Historical Memory. Country’s residents with their families will lay flowers at memorial complexes, obelisks, monuments and mass graves. The theme running through the relay race is offspring’s gratefulness for a peaceful sky above our country and the opportunity to work, study, raise our children, enjoy life, sing, dance and have friendly relations. An important element of the patriotic project launch “Belarus remembers. We remember everyone” has become the discussion which is conducted online with the participation of youth from all regions of Belarus including Victor A. Maslyak the first secretary of City Committee of the NGO BRYU, Marina A. Vozhuy the first secretary of District Committee of the NGO BRYU, Anastacia P. Marozova secretary of the NGO BRYU at the educational establishment “Polessky State University” and students.
The participants of the discussion focused on the themes of genocide on Belarusian people, the consolidation of Belarusian society on the bases of heroic traditions and country’s history, preservation of intergenerational solidarity, resistance of the attempts aimed at challenging historical truth about the events of the Great Patriotic War.
Before engaging in a dialogue BRYU introduced an updated version of the virtual album “Belarus remembers. Native faces of Victory”. The Relay Race “Belarus remembers. We Remember Everyone”, dialog of generations “The flowers of the Great Victory”, national album “Belarus remembers. Native faces of Victory” have already become an integral part of the multi-level national patriotic project “The flowers of the Great Victory” the symbol of which is apple blossoms with a red-green ribbon being the symbol of respect and gratefulness for peace and independence of our country. Patriotic initiatives which are bringing together hundreds of thousands of people across the country annually have become the national project “The flowers of the Great Victory” and the symbol of
continuity of winners’ and young contemporaries’ generations.
