The level of modern development of biotechnological enterprises and industries in the Republic of Belarus requires constant training of highly qualified specialists in this field, and the specialties of the faculty open up huge opportunities for employment and self-realization.
FACULTY LIFE
The Faculty has a sectoral laboratory for DNA and cell technologies in crop and livestock production, which is actively involved in research under state research programmes and BRFFR grants with the direct participation of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students.
One of the brightest student events is the project initiated by the Republican Student Council of the PA «BRYU» and implemented by the Youth Union together with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus – the republican contest "Student of the Year". In the 2021-2022 academic year, the winner of the university stage was a student of the Faculty of Biotechnology.
As part of the educational biotechnological practice, students of the Faculty of Biology (biotechnology) and Biochemistry regularly visit the enterprises of the city, where they get acquainted with the specifics and methods of research, equipment features and new developments.
Students carry out their term papers and theses on the basis of branch research laboratories of the Faculty of Biotechnology. Scientific works of students are annually submitted to the Republican contest of research works of students in the Republic of Belarus and foreign competitions of scientific works. The best works of students of the Faculty of Biotechnology are awarded annually with diplomas.
The faculty successfully operates a student scientific community that attracts students to active research and scientific and practical work. Open lectures, seminars and conferences are held on a regular basis within the community.
Every year in May, the faculty celebrates its birthday. On this occasion, various festive events are organized that unite our faculty community.
On May 26, during the visit of the scientific delegation of the staff of the Central Botanical Garden of the Republic of Belarus to POLESU, the faculty was visited by the Head of the Department of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Nikolaevich Reshetnikov.
On June 28, 2021, the solemn awarding of diplomas to graduates of the Faculty of Biotechnology took place. Biologists, biochemists, biotechnologists and biology teachers were congratulated by the heads of the faculty, teachers who wished the graduates grandiose goals and their realization!
