On the eve of the New Year, students of Polessky State University received certificates of participation and a diploma of the winner of the XII International Olympiad "World Wars in the History of Humanity", organized by Gomel State University named after F. Skaryna. On November 23, 2022, the team of Polessky State University took part in the international Olympiad "World Wars in the History of Humanity". The event was held remotely by the Department of the History of Belarus of the Faculty of History and Intercultural Communications of the State State University named after F. Skorina. Our team consists of students from different faculties. 38 teams from Belarus, Russia and Uzbekistan tok part in the olympiad. Students had to understand the history of the First and Second World Wars, the speed and accuracy of the answers of the teams were assessed. It was necessary to be well versed in the history of major battles and weapons, remember the exploits of heroes and find out the places where memorable signs dedicated to the events of the war years. Our students showed their knowledge I, erudition, a broad outlook and the ability to work in a team to solve difficult problems. Our team deservedly won the first place among the teams of non-historical specialties.
