As part of the fulfillment of the tasks of informatization of the Brest region, with the support of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, on April 14, 2023, the first event was held at Polessky State University, aimed at developing a strategy for the digital transformation of various industries, both the economy and other spheres of life in our region. The working meeting was attended by representatives of authorities and specialized enterprises of the nearest districts: Luninets, Stolin, Kobrinsky, Ivanovsky, Gantsevichsky, Pinsky, Drogichinsky, Berezevsky, as well as the administration of Brest city. The opening speech from the Brest Regional Executive Committee was delivered by Deputy Chairman GORODETSKII Dmitry Nikolayevich, aiming all those present at serious systematic work, focusing on the extreme importance of a wider introduction of modern IT solutions and the training of relevant highly qualified personnel. The following thematic reports were made: “Digitalization of various sectors of the economy” - Director General of the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus KRUGLIKOV Sergey Vladimirovich. “Strategic directions of digitalization of the Brest region. Key indicators” – Head of the Digitalization Office of the Brest Region, Director of CJSC “Brest Science and Technology Park” Dmitriy G. MAKARUK. "Participation of the IT Campus of the Polessky region in solving the problems of digitalization of the Brest region" - Vice-Rector for Science and Research of the Polessky State University Shtepa Vladimir Nikolaevich. The working meeting was completed by a discussion platform where the following issues were discussed: the need to form anchor projects of districts for the digitalization of various areas of activity of municipalities, system seminars, trainings and courses to improve the theoretical and practical knowledge of specialists and youth of districts of the Brest region, the formation of practice-oriented case-tasks for the IT Hackathon "Polessky Signor". The event was of a representative and substantive nature, formed the next steps to be taken in the context of the implementation of the State Program "Digital Development of Belarus" for 2021-2025. It is important for our university that it is being formed as one of the drivers of digitalization of the Brest region in the segments of training and advanced training, start-up projects and the creation of applied software.
