On May 11, 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Finance of Polessky State University (deputy deans for educational work Gorish I.V. and Shtepa A.G.) with the active participation of the primary organization of the Pinsk "Belaya Rus" (chairman, senior lecturer of the Department of Economics and Business Makarushko V .V.) within the framework of the project of the NGO "Belaya Rus" "Belarusian Republican Debate League", an extended meeting of the debate club on the topic "Victory Day: myths and reality" was organized and held. Nikolay Nikonorovich Kolosovskiy, Senior Counselor of Justice, retired, students of the Faculty of Economics and Finance, Faculty of Engineering, students of the Polessky State University Lyceum took part in the work. The participants of the debate club spoke about the importance of preserving the historical memory of the Belarusian people, the memory of the Great Victory of the Soviet people over fascism, the role of the Belarusian people, who lost every third inhabitant. This is especially important for preserving the identity of the Belarusian people, the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus at the present historical time, when purposeful work is underway in individual states aimed at distorting, distorting historical events, belittling the role of the Soviet people in the Great Victory. Therefore, it is important not to forget the past and fight false information about the Great Patriotic War. Only then can the future be built on the basis of respect for history and the people who sacrificed their lives for our freedom
