On December 1, 2023, at the Department of Biochemistry and Bioinformatics of Polessky State University, the opening of the student research laboratory (SNIL) “Biochemist” took place, which will unite purposeful and responsible students who want to acquire and develop practical skills in the field of modern biotechnologies.
Oleg Evgenievich KUZNETSOV, director of the Institute of Biochemistry of Biologically Active Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, delivered a parting speech to the participants of the SNIL.
MOYSEENOK Andrey Georgievich, head of the department of vitaminology and nutraceuticals of the Institute of Biochemistry of Biologically Active Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, presented an informative report to students and staff on the topic “New functions of coenzyme A in the genome, proteome, metabolome.”
Employees of PolesSU also addressed the SNIL participants with a welcoming speech: Vladimir Nikolaevich SHTEPA, vice-rector for scientific work, and Natalya Anatolyevna GLINSKAYA, head of the department of biochemistry and bioinformatics.
Junior researcher at the Institute of Biochemistry of Biologically Active Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Andrey Sergeevich CHEREMISIN made a report on the topic: “Mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma in the study of microelement status.”
All participants of the event emphasized that the main goal of the SNIL activities is to attract the student audience to innovative activities, expand scientific potential and develop students’ research skills. The discussion was heated, the meeting participants received a fresh look at current issues in biochemistry!
