International Competition of the best practices of teaching Russian as a non-native (foreign) language in pedagogical universities of the CIS member states

In October – December 2023, Moscow State Pedagogical University (MPSU), together with the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities (EAPA), held an international competition of best practices in teaching Russian as a non-native (foreign) language in universities of the CIS member states implementing teacher education programs. The competition is held in order to further strengthen international cooperation in the field of teacher education through the exchange of unique and effective pedagogical practices of teaching Russian as a non-native (foreign) language in pedagogical universities of the CIS member states. The competition was timed to coincide with the Year of the Russian Language as the Language of Interethnic Communication in the CIS and the Year of Teacher and Mentor in the Russian Federation and was held in 2 stages. More than 100 teachers of Russian as a non-native (foreign) language from 42 universities in 6 countries took part in the competition: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan

According to the results of the first stage (October-November 2023), 20 contestants who were invited to participate in the final of the Competition passed to the full-time (final) stage. On December 15, 2023, the finalists presented master classes in the main building of the Moscow State University, during which they demonstrated their professionalism, virtuoso mastery of various techniques and technologies of teaching the Russian language. Yulia Vyacheslavovna Korzhenevich, senior lecturer at the Department of Marketing and International Management, was among the finalists of the competition. Having presented to the jury her methodology of mixed RCT teaching using an intermediary language, Yulia Vyacheslavovna became the winner of the competition, taking 2nd place. Congratulations on a well-deserved victory!

The importance of holding such events for the generalization and dissemination of innovative experience and the organization of a truly important scientific dialogue is great!
