As part of the celebration of the Day of Belarusian Science, the scientific and innovation department, together with the Startup School of Poles State University, held a number of events for students of the Lyceum of Polessky State University. On January 23, 2024, a scientific seminar “University science as one of the priorities of the country’s innovative development” was held for 11th grade students. The head of the scientific and innovation department, candidate of economic sciences, associate professor Yulia Aleksandrovna Rybalko spoke about the research and innovation activities of Polessky State University. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the university’s “branded” innovation project – the Innovation and Industrial Cluster in the field of biotechnology and the “green economy”.
Then, the head of the “Business Center” laboratory, Anna Vitalievna Khomich, introduced the students to the activities of the Polessky State University Startup School and held an intellectual game “Experts of Science”, during which the children solved puzzles, logical problems, gave answers to questions, etc.
On January 24, 2024, seminars “Startup as an object of research: concept, essence, types and distinctive features” and “Preparation for presentation and defense of the project” were held for 10th grade students. The head of the “Business Center” laboratory, Anna Vitalievna Khomich, revealed the following questions: Basic information about the Poles State University Startup School; Theoretical foundations of startup development; Examples of the best startups in the world; Promising directions for implementing startups; Searching for a viable startup idea; Startup presentation.
Methodologist of the scientific and innovation department Tatyana Pavlovna Markovich told how to prepare for the presentation and defense of the project (including where to start; how to stand; how to walk; how to keep track of time; how to handle questions and work with objections, etc.).
In conclusion, Anna Vitalievna and Tatyana Pavlovna noted the main mistakes made during the presentation and defense of projects and gave advice on how to solve them.
During the meetings, listeners received answers to all their questions.
