The open championship and the championship of the Brest region in karate (WKF) – the Edelweiss Cup – were held at the Polessky State University sports complex and brought together the strongest athletes of the region.
The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, sports federations and university management.
The Faculty of Healthy Lifestyle Organization was worthily represented by: Chimbur Roman, a 3rd–year student – Diploma of the first degree in kumite among men in the weight category over 84 kg; David Nguyen, a graduate of the Faculty of Healthy Lifestyle Organization, – Diploma of the first degree in kumite among men in the weight category over 75 kg; Nikita Sahwon, a master student of the Faculty of Healthy Lifestyle Organization – Diploma of the second degree in kumite among men in the weight category over 75 kg; Nikita Dubina, 3rd year student of the Faculty of Economics and Finance, – Diploma of the II degree in kumite among men in the weight category over 75 kg; Gleb Sachkovsky, graduate of the Faculty of Healthy Lifestyle Organization – Diploma of the III degree in kumite among men in the weight category over 84 kg; Ivan Solomakha, 1st year student. Their participation demonstrates the high level of training of athletes at the university and the effectiveness of educational programs focused on physical culture and sports.
As part of the tournament, there was a career guidance platform where university students presented: - university specialties; - training areas and learning opportunities; - student initiatives and projects; - dormitories and the university's sports infrastructure.
